This entity was instrumental in securing the necessary land for construction from the City Council of La Orotava, in a strategic exchange involving a school in Aguamansa and additional land.
Today, the Teide Cable Car is operated by Teleférico del Pico de Teide SA, a public limited company established in August 1971. The Cabildo de Tenerife holds a significant stake in the company, owning 49.44% of the shares as of 2008. The concession for the cable car is set to expire in 2037, ensuring many more years of service to the public.
The base station of the Teide Cable Car is not just the starting point of this aerial journey but also a hub of amenities for visitors. Accessible by car, the station offers approximately 220 parking spaces, catering to the convenience of travelers. On-site, visitors can find a bar, a restaurant, and a souvenir shop, providing a comfortable space to relax, dine, and collect mementos of their visit.
