NORTH OF TENERIFE 🌊

VOLCANIC ORIGIN

The north coast of Tenerife is an incredible place for those looking for a quiet vacation, accompanied by the natural beauty of the island. The northern coastal vistas, sculpted by volcanic eruptions of yesteryear, offer visitors another world where they can recharge their energy.

Our colleague Gerardo Oronoz shows us these volcanic formations on the coast of Tenerife, with the scent of the Atlantic Ocean. Many of these shorelines have been adapted for swimming, allowing you to enjoy the warm embrace of lava.

The north coast of Tenerife is ideal for those who love to combine hiking with a dip in the sea. However, it is essential to take proper safety precautions and follow all the rules, as the waters of the have strong currents. Make sure to check the color of the flags on the beach and only bathe in the areas designated for it, as long as it is monitored, as it can be a very dangerous place and not recommended for bathing. Remember, it’s for your safety.

We must respect the natural environment and avoid leaving garbage. We need to take care of what we have and be aware of our actions.

North Coast of Tenerife

In 1917, a huge Dracaena draco, located in the north of the island of Tenerife and known as the Millenary Drago of Icod de los Vinos, was declared a National Monument. The plant belongs to the monocot group and exhibits abnormal secondary growth, making it a woody herbaceous plant rather than strictly a «tree». If you want to know more about the history of the Millenary Drago, we provide its link.Drago Milenario – Icod de Los Vinos.
