San Miguel from Tajao.
A beautiful fishing village located in the municipality of Arico in southern Tenerife.
An incredible place where you can breathe calm and tranquility.
Most of its inhabitants live from fishing. It is a small town and on weekends it fills up with people from all over the island to taste its delicious fresh fish.
Its name is due to the proximity to the ravine of Tajao and the devotion of its people to San Miguel Arcángel. The saint has a small hermitage that presides over the town square and his big festival is celebrated on September 29.
This curious town did not have running water or electricity until almost the eighties and today it is one of the most gastronomically important towns on the island.
The municipality of Arico has many places to visit on your next vacation on the island. From coastal areas with very good restaurants and beautiful beaches, to historical areas such as the Caserío de Icor. It certainly has something for everyone and we are sure you Will like it.
