HISTORY OF TENERIFE 😎

The Pajares of La Orotava in Tenerife Island.

In the Valley of the Orotava the traditional haystacks of vegetal cover are located.

These villeros haystacks are usually rectangular in shape, with dry stone walls partially carved in the past. On the walls, there is the traditional covering of bundles of rye.

It was the home of different families from the highlands of the Villa. Natural materials were used, that helped preserve food better. There are people who lived in a haystack, they confirm that food was kept warmer in winter and cooler in summer.
